Warcraft: (a very subjective list of) 10 most important characters

(I've convinced a geeky friend to write a bit, since he ALWAYS have so many ideas and things to talk to me about.)

In 10th place:

Malfurion Stormrage
Race Night Elf
Title Shan’do, the Archdruid

Malfurion Stormrage was the first disciple of druidism trained by the Night Elf demigod Cenarius. In the following invasion from the Burning Legion, he and his lover, Tyrande Whisperwind, lead the Night Elves in the War of the Ancients more than ten thousand years ago. Following the defeat of the Burning Legion, he returned to his hibernation in the Emerald Dream. With the return of the Burning Legion during the events of the Third War, he was awakened by Tyrande to lead the Night Elves to battle in Kalimdor. Under the persuasion of the Prophet, the Night Elves formed an alliance with the Humans and Orcs, and Malfurion personally lead the final attack to defeat Archimonde the Defiler, Lord of the Legion. Following the defeat of the Burning Legion, Malfurion was briefly involved with the pursuit of his brother, Illidan Stormrage, but eventually pardoned him. After these timed of war, Malfurion returned to his slumbers in the wilds. However, deep within the Emerald Dream, an evil being known as the Nightmare rises. Malfurion was said to be lost within the dream, but he will eventually make his return to guide his people against the Nightmare’s influence over Azeroth…

"If pride gives us pause, my love, then perhaps we have lived long enough already."
